Angela Saavedra is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Colombia. Her work explores the dialogue between human nature, identity and sensory experience. Her artistic practice encompasses painting, sculpture and land art, often using materials such as natural pigments and organic matter collected from different parts of the world. Through a contemporary lens, Saavedra reflects on the relationship between body language and perception, material artefacts and ancestral heritage, landscape and identity, constructing compositions that explore the tension between built form and natural transformation.

In her work, emptiness is not absence but a vital element, a space of silence and balance.

Her visual language combines restraint and sensitivity, aligned with a poetic minimalism resisting the visual noise of contemporary culture. She has participated in several artistic projects, solo and group exhibitions, consolidating a trajectory combining ecological awareness and aesthetic precision. She currently lives and works in Lutry, Switzerland.

Artist Statement

My work is essentially dualistic and arises from an impulse to explore the limits of perception. I am drawn to the intersection where line, form, text and texture transcend representation to transform into experience. My work resists definition. I navigate between forms and concepts, refusing to be confined to visual or conceptual categories.

Each piece is an act of exploration, a space where abstraction and figuration, chaos and intention, heritage and modernity coexist.

I create not to define, but to question; not to conclude, but to continue becoming.

My practice is a meditation on presence, emptiness, and transformation.
